Terra Sweater

Terra Sweater is comfortable unisex design for kids. It is knitted with basic cables combined with textured horizontal stitch. The sweater design is simple and elegant. It features boxy slightly oversized shape, dropped shoulder and square neck.

Sweater is worked on straight needles back and forth. After front and back are joined together the stitches are picked up for sleeves, then the sleeves are worked top down. There are two options for the shoulder finishing in the pattern – button closure for babies and smaller kids and solid shoulder for bigger children.

The buttonholes can be replaced with fastener snaps and shoulders can be decorated with buttons. It is a great option for those who doesn’t like button hole on knitted garments but still would like to make a bigger neck opening.
I knitted two versions of Terra sweater for my son and I really love both of them.

Sweater with buttons was a perfect addition to baby wardrobe. The bigger neck opening allows extra care for little person while dressing up. This sweater is knitted with Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino Big. This yarn is so soft and gentle for delicate baby skin.

Sweater in light grey is knitted in bigger size and it has no buttons. For this sweater I used another children friendly yarn - Rowan Baby Merino Silk DK
Knitting pattern for Terra sweater was successfully tested and available from my pattern stores: Ravelry, Etsy and Lovecrafts

Starflake Sweater

Happy Autumn everyone! I’ve got a great news to share with you today. Last couple of months I’ve been busy working on a new sweater design for kids and adults. So please welcome my Child Starflake Sweater and Adult Starflake sweater.

This stylish sweater would make a perfect addition to any wardrobe. Knitted with circular yoke seamlessly, this garment has tunic length which is ideal for an autumn chill weather. The yoke is knitted with beautiful cables in a star shape and decorated with crochet bobbles. Two more pretty stitches decorate the sweater both sides of cables.

Starflake sweater is knitted top down seamlessly with modified longer yoke for a perfect fit and extra comfort. The bottom of garment has a curve edge and fancy slits. Neck, cuffs and bottom band are knitted with 2 x 2 rib.

For this sweater I used perfect budget yarn Mary Maxim Mellowspul DK solids. It has a good colour palette, knits easily and doesn’t change after washing.

As a substitute you can also use Paintbox Yarns Simply DK

So many features and beautiful details make this project is really enjoyable and interesting knit. You can even learn a new technic! The bobbles are crocheted and the pattern has very detailed photo tutorial and the video tutorial is available in my YouTube channel too! So if you fancy to knit a new perfect sweater for incoming Fall please get you copy of pattern from Etsy or Ravelry.
