Knitting pattern - Trimetry Bucket hat

17.10.23

Have you ever thought about knitted panama hat for autumn/winter time? Is it really possible?

My answer is YES to both questions! I have been thinking about panama hat for quite a long time and finally designed one. Please welcome Trimetry Bucket hat!

Girl is modelling in hand knitted panama hat in red, knitted with textured stitch in DK weight yarn. Her sweater is also hand knitted
Design overview

Knitted it DK weight yarn, the hat reversible and can be worn both sides facing. Reversible also means double layered and will keep you and your little one warm and toasty this winter. One layer of hat is knitted with beautiful textured stitch and the second layer is knitted in simple stockinette.

The crown and brim of hat is knitted in simple garter stitch, which matches the texture of fancy stitch. The brim is knitted with two strands of yarn. It not only keeps ears away from wind but also helps to keep its shape well.

Yarn choice

The sample is knitted with DK weight yarn Drops Lima  in shade Red 3609. It is beautiful wool and alpaca blend yarn, which is soft and warm. If you do not like wearing wool close to skin you can opt for other fibre blend and knit, for example the internal layer, in cotton or any other natural fibre. There is also a great opportunity for playing with colours on stockinette layer by adding stripes or using variegated yarn. You can also knit crown and/or brim in contrast colour.

Lace Chain Hat - pattern release

2.3.21

While the spring is already here the weather is still cold enough for a new pretty lacy hat! So today I'd like to share my latest knitting hat design - Lace Chain Hat.

Knitted with DK weight yarn and circular needles the hat can be completed just in a few days. There are a few different stitches and techniques are used in the pattern. Knitting starts with irregular ribbing, neat three stitches bobbles then continue with pretty heart shaped lace and finishes with fancy cables. You won't be bored knitting this hat.

Also, the hat is knitted in the round which means no need to spend extra time for seaming.

Knitting pattern has row-by-row instructions, charts and photo tutorial for bobbles.

I used beautiful Hayton DK yarn in shade Fresh Leaves. It is lovely hand dyed yarn from local dyer Eden Cottage Yarn. If you haven't knitted with this yarn yet, I highly recommend to try it out.

The knitting pattern is written for three sizes - toddler, child and teen/adult and can be obtained from Ravelry and Lovecrafts

It is available with 10% discount on Ravelry until 9th of March. Just use code LACE10 to get your discount.

Happy knitting! I've just finished working on my new knitting design - Bloksy Shawl.
For this shawl I used easy to memorise reversible stitch. The triangle shawl is knitted sideways starting from corner to corner with fancy block stitch. The double edge stitches mimic I-cord.
Size of the finished shawl is 185 cm along the wingspan and 68 cm down the centre spine. The shawl is knitted with DK weight yarn.
Knitting pattern for Bloksy Shawl is easy to follow and has very detailed row-by-row instructions. It is available from Ravelry.
The shawl can be worn as a scarf over the jacket (it is my favourite way to wear all my shawls) and makes a perfect set with Bloksy Hat I designed last months.

Pattern release - Whirl Cable Hat

13.2.20
Whirl Cable Hat was designed in collaboration with Malabrigo Yarn company.
The hat is knitted with beautiful hand dyed yarn Malabrigo Washted is shade Sunset. It is worsted weight single ply yarn, which is very soft and gentle to be worn next to skin. The colour palette for this yarn is very bright and beautiful. But some shades wouldn’t work for cable knitting, as they are too variegated.
Whirl cable hat is comfortable unisex slouch hat, which is knitted with 3D cable stitch in the round. It looks gorgeous on both children and adults. Knitting pattern is written for both children and adults and has both charts and row-by-row instructions for all sizes.

Knitting pattern is available from Ravelry and Lovecrafts

Color palette for Malabrigo Washted Yarn can be found here

Pattern release - Bloksy Hat

27.1.20
It is so easy to make matching garments and create family looks with my daughters, but it is completely different story when you’ve got a son. So, for some time I’ve been thinking about matching hats with my little gentlemen. And today I’m happy to introduce you my first knitted design in 2020 – Bloksy Hat.
This comfortable unisex hat is knitted in the round with easy to memorise stitch. It has slightly cloche shape and looks great on all members of family.
For this hat I’ve chosen Baby Merino Silk DK yarn from Rowanin shade Dawn. It is beautiful and soft yarn in DK weight. I ignored the ribbing and replaced it with a purl round, which created a stylish and modern look.
The knitting pattern for Bloksy Hat is suitable for knitters of all levels and it is written for all sizes from baby through adult. You can find this pattern on Ravelry and LoveCrafts.

6.9.19
Happy Autumn everyone! I’ve got a great news to share with you today. Last couple of months I’ve been busy working on a new sweater design for kids and adults. So please welcome my Child Starflake Sweater and Adult Starflake sweater.

This stylish sweater would make a perfect addition to any wardrobe. Knitted with circular yoke seamlessly, this garment has tunic length which is ideal for an autumn chill weather. The yoke is knitted with beautiful cables in a star shape and decorated with crochet bobbles. Two more pretty stitches decorate the sweater both sides of cables.

Starflake sweater is knitted top down seamlessly with modified longer yoke for a perfect fit and extra comfort. The bottom of garment has a curve edge and fancy slits. Neck, cuffs and bottom band are knitted with 2 x 2 rib.

For this sweater I used perfect budget yarn Mary Maxim Mellowspul DK solids. It has a good colour palette, knits easily and doesn’t change after washing.

As a substitute you can also use Paintbox Yarns Simply DK

So many features and beautiful details make this project is really enjoyable and interesting knit. You can even learn a new technic! The bobbles are crocheted and the pattern has very detailed photo tutorial and the video tutorial is available in my YouTube channel too!
