I love knitting ponchos for my daughters. They last much longer than other knitted garments such as vests, tunics and sweaters. Also, girls look so pretty and stylish wearing them. So, I’ve decided to design another one for this Fall. Please welcome my new design – Magic Leaves Poncho.
This poncho is knitted as one piece starting from the bottom of front and it has no seams at all. Beautiful Leaves motif combined with “lazy” cables at front and beautiful twisted rib stitch along the edge. I decorated the poncho with wooden buttons for even more stylish and unique look.
The fabric knitted with Aran weight wool yarn drapes beautifully along shoulders and keep my little one warm and cozy.
The knitting pattern for the Magic Leaves Poncho is available from one of my pattern stores:

Can this be made without the Leaves? I cannot follow a chart, but this is so cute, I wanted to make it anyway, but without the leaves. I thought maybe I could make knit ridges for the leaves part or wherever I could.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
DeleteYes,you can ignore the instruction for leaves and knit any other stitch you would like. But please note the pattern has the written row-by-row instruction for leaves.
Oh, I thought they were by a chart. Thank you very much, and I will be getting this pattern. That is so great. I'm excited
