Talea Tunic - pattern release

28.5.20
After a number of adult designs I'm happy to share a children one - Talea Tunic.
I wanted to create a light weight summer dress with simple shape and beautiful texture. So for this tunic I have chosen lovely summer yarn Mary Maxim Simply Natural. In spite of DK weight, this yarn feels really light weight thanks to bamboo. It is very soft and drapes beautifully.

Talea Tunic is knitted back and forth on straight needles. It has A-shape silhouette with dropped shoulders and round neck. The neck and sleeve bands are knitted in the round.
For this tunic I used a combination of easy to memorise stitches - Tiny knots stitch and Caterpillar stitch divided by a number rows in garter stitch.
The knitting pattern for Talea Tunic is easy to follows and suitable for advanced beginners. It is written for wide range of sizes from 9-12 months through child 13-14 years.
It is available from Ravelry with 10% off until 3rd of June. Use code TALEA10 at checkout to get your discount.
List of recommended DK weight substitutes for Talea Tunic:
- King Cole Bamboo Cotton DK
- Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo & Cotton DK
- Lion Brand Coboo
- Sublime Isla
- Premier Yarns Bamboo Fair

Pattern release - E-motion mitts

13.2.20
I have got a request from some of my lovely customers to design a pair of finger-less mitts for children which can be worn with ponchos to keep the little hands warm and cosy. After some experimenting with designs and stitches I designed my E-motion mitts.
These mitts are simple enough to knit but they are really comfortable and cozy to wear.  I decided to make them with some positive fit around arm so they can be worn on the top of light weight sweater for extra warmth and comfort. To keep the mitts in place I added a twisted rib around wrist. To make the knitting more fun and enjoyable I’ve added a textured edge on both sides.
For this project I used Superwash DK yarn from SweetGeorgia in shade Birch.
Also, I couldn’t resist to make a pair of mitts for myself too. For my pair I used undyed yarn Laxtons Blueface Masham Marble DK  The mitts look gorgeous with my new Bloksy shawl, knitting pattern for which is coming soon.
Knitting pattern for E-motion mitts is written for both children and adults and it is available from Ravelry and LoveCrafts.

Knitting pattern for Emotion poncho is also available from Ravelry, Etsy and LoveCrafts

For some inspiration, you can also check the project pages of my lovely test knitters. I really love how they play with colours to customise they mitts.

SweetGeorgia yarn is available from LoveCrafts

26.9.18
Hello fellow knitters, I believe you keep your knitting needles busy with your lovely WIPs to get ready for incoming cold weather. Today I’d like to share two great news:
Firstly, I’ve opened my knitting group on Ravelry. It is a new place where I’m going to run my test knits, share the latest news and help with my patterns. So if you are fancy to share you ViTalina Craft projects and have a little chat about it, please come along and do it. Here the link for the Knitting with ViTalina Craft group:

Secondly, I’d like to share my latest knitted design – Magic Leaves Tunic, which I created for my girls.
I think it is turned out so pretty and comfortable. It looks so gorgeous on these two little besties.

The A-shape tunic is knitted bottom up in the round up to underarms, then the front and back are knitted back and forth separately. The frill and sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch; the body of tunic is knitted in reverse stockinette with fancy leaves motif at front.

The tunic can be knitted with worsted or Aran weight yarn. It is designed with about 17 cm/ 6½ inches positive ease.

The purple tunic is knitted with Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted. Looks like it is my new favourite yarn for this winter. The pink tunic is knitted with Lang Yarns Merino+ Superwash.

It can be knitted with both wool yarn for Fall or cotton one for the summer.

My skirt is knitted with Lana Grossa Cotone which is the perfect summer yarn and easy to knit with.

Cable Fantasy Baby Blanket

5.2.16
Today I'd like to share my first project for 2016 - Cable Fantasy Baby Blanket. It is also my very first design for my newborn daughter Veronica! I can't believe I'm a mum of two little girls now!

Because my newborn daughter is not ready yet for modeling her new blanket by herself my older princess is happy to help me with the pictures :).

So this super cozy blanket is knitted with fancy cable pattern in beautiful mandarin shade. For this blanket I used lovely worsted weight wool yarn Cascade 220 superwash. This soft and warm yarn looks great with cable patterns. It is one of my favorite yarns for winter time.

The blanket is knitted back and forth on circular needles and the edging is knitted in the round. The size of the blanket is approximately 74 x 86 cm.

I wrote the knitting pattern for this blanket which is available from one of my pattern stores. The knitting pattern is easy to follow and suitable for intermediate knitters. It has six pages of instructions, cable charts and row-by-row instructions for them and picture.
