Ramble Poncho

31.12.18
Happy Knitting and Happy New Year! It is time to share my latest design for 2019 – Ramble Poncho. I made this super warm and super comfortable poncho for my older daughter. Knitted with super bulky yarn, the Ramble Poncho is designed to keep you away from the wind and cold this winter season. It has a comfortable hood for extra warmth and front pocket for hands.

Front and back of poncho are knitted separately back and forth. After shoulder seams are sewn the stitches are picked up for the hood. For the better fit of hood there are couple of rows are knitted in the round for the short collar. Then the hood is knitted back and forth. The hood band is also knitted in the round. The poncho is designed with positive ease of 20-25 cm/8-10 inches. The measurements of the poncho are given including shoulders.

I used The Wool yarn from We Are Knitters and 12 mm knitting needles. The knitting pattern is easy to follow and suitable for intermediate knitters. It is written for all sizes from toddler through adult L/XL.

Gear Cardigan

22.2.17
I don’t have many requests for knitted garments from my lovely husband. But if I have one I try to postpone all my current projects and knit for him before he changes his mind. This time I was asked to design open front casual cardigan for him. So please welcome my Gear Cardigan. This is the first male pattern in my collection and debut of my husband in modelling.

This comfy cardigan is knitted with bulky weight wool yarn. So it is quick and easy project for those who love knitting with large needles. I used The petite wool from We Are Knitters for it. As my husband is not a big fun of cables and complicated patterns I decided to use two matching textured stitches for this project.

Deep neck opening with ribbing along the front edges finishes this style perfectly.

This timeless cardigan is a perfect garment for both countryside work and city adventures. It is warm, cosy and stylish.

The knitting pattern for it is available from my pattern stores:

Country Vest

3.12.16
Despite my huge knitting experience, I had thought that knitting with large needles is not for me. For many years I’ve been knitting with needles form size 2.5 mm to 4.0 mm. “Large needles are for lazy knitters, who want a quick result” I thought. But I was so wrong! Once I’ve tried knitting with super bulky yarn I became very addicted to it. There is some magic in this process and in every stitch. Also it is not so quick as I thought. The super bulky yarn is not spine so tight as chunky or aran yarn and knitting with it requires more attention to every stitch. But the result is so beautiful.
For my first super bulky project I’ve chosen The Wool from we are knitters. I wanted to make simple universal and stylish garment. So I’ve made my Country Vest!

I knitted my vest with my favorite twisted stitch rib and open front. However the width of front parts is big enough to close it with a shawl pin or other fastener.

To simplify the assembly and reduce the quantity of seams I shape the shoulder using two sizes of knitting needles and join front and back parts with three needles bind off along the shoulder line.

Also for a beautiful edge along the armholes and front opening I knitted the edge stitches in every row.

I’m so happy with the result.

Fancy Twist Hat and Cowl Set

11.11.16
I’ve been knitting a lot for my kids recently but today I’d like to share a knitting project which I knitted for myself for this Fall.

It is super cozy and super stylish Fancy Twist Hat and Cowl Set.
It was my first experience with bulky yarn from We Are Knitters. I used The Petite Wool in Spotted Beige colour for my set. I absolutely love the result and this super soft and super warm yarn.

The hat body is knitted with pretty twisted stitch rib back and forth but the brim of hat is knitted in the round in order to avoid seam on the edge. The matching cowl is knitted with combination of two stitches and can be worn in different ways.
