Bloksy Sweater - pattern release

30.9.20

Bloksy sweater is a classic unisex garment which I designed for my children this summer. Knitted in neutral shades, the sweater makes a perfect to the wardrobe. It can be easily combined with any trousers, leggings, skirts and is also perfect for layering.

The sweater is knitted with simple geometrical stitches - bloksy stitch around the waist and matching vertical stripes around the chest. The construction of sweater is simple and does not involve a lot of sewing. The front and back of sweater are knitted bottom up on straight needles. After the shoulder seams are closed the stitches are picked up along the armholes for sleeves and neck finishing. The sleeves are knitted top down which allows to adjust their length easily. Ignore the sleeves and you can get a perfect vest.

For this project I use DK weight yarn and US 6 (4.0 mm) knitting needles for sweater body and US 4 (3.5 mm) needles for the neck band and cuffs.

I recommend to knit this sweater in solid or semisolid shades of yarn to show the beauty of geometrical stitches. You can see below some yarn ideas:

- Baby Merino Silk DK by Rowan;

- Poetry by Willow and Lark;

- Cascade 220 Superwash by Cascade Yarns

- Sirdar Snuggly Baby Cashmere Merino DK

- Patons Diploma Gold DK

- Sublime Extra Fine Merino DK

Remember to check you gauge before starting your next project. You can find some useful information about correct swatching process here.

Sweater has been successfully test knitted on Ravelry. You can see the projects from my test knitting team following this link

Cable Leisure Vest

15.10.16
Don't you think it is a time for warm and cozy knits? I think it is :) So please welcome my new knitted design - Cable Leisure Vest.

I designed this vest for my older daughter to keep her warm and stylish this winter.
The vest is knitted with very pretty and simple textured stitch which accompanied with fancy cable at the front. The T-shape design forms naturally lowered shoulder line. The round "close to neck" collar will keep you warm and cozy during windy autumn/winter days.

The vest is knitted with Drops Lima wool yarn. Front and back of the vest are knitted bottom up on straight needles. The neck is knitted in the round after the shoulder seams are closed.

The knitting pattern for Cable Leisure vest has been test knitted on Ravelry Thank you to Ladies for testing it for me!

Terra Vest knitting pattern

26.9.16
Today I'd like to share my new knitted design - Terra Vest. I've made this vest in size 9-12 months for my little daughter Veronica.

This vest is really fancy and easy project. It is knitted in the round and completely seamless.
It is knitted bottom up in the round up to underarms and then front and back are finished separately back and forth.

The top edge of the vest is finished with knitted bind off. Because of breast bands this vest will last a bit longer than other garments, you can simply reattach the buttons.

I've written the knitting pattern which was successfully test knitted on Ravelry. Thank you so much to my lovely test knitters!

Cross-Bow Vest

1.5.16
Today I would like to share my latest knitted design - Cross-Bow Vest. I have been thinking about this beautiful bow stitch for a couple of months. I wanted to knit something simple and stylish at the same time. I also wanted to keep the bow pattern through the whole garment. So I came up with an idea of t-shape vest with boat neck shape.

This vest is very easy to knit. Both parts front and back are knitted similar but it takes some time to make up each bow and fix their centers with couple of stitches. It requires a bit of time and patience but the result is worth it.

Also this vest is perfect garment for all seasons. It can be knitted with wool yarn and combined with long-sleeve top for cold autumn/winter days. Also it can be knitted with summer cotton yarn and be a perfect spring/summer top for any outfit.

The sleeves edge is decorated with I-cord which match the pattern and looks really beautiful on this vest. I used sport/5-ply weight merino wool for my vest.

I wrote a knitting pattern for my Cross-Bow Vest. It is very detailed and contains row-by-row instructions for all sizes and very detailed assembly process in pictures.

I have designed and made new knitted vest for my little daughter. It is a beautiful vest with a butterfly at the front. It completes a set with my Lady Butterfly Hat which I designed last spring. Surprisingly the hat is still fitting my daughter. So, you can see the complete set in the pictures.

The vest is knitted on 3.25 mm needles using Garnstudio DROPS Baby Merino yarn shade 08. I love this yarn. It is very soft for baby projects as well as easy to work with.

Wise Owl Baby Vest Knitting Pattern

20.3.14
I have just finished creating my new knitted garment for my little daughter. It is a beautiful vest with an owl at front. Please welcome Wise Owl Baby Vest and knitting pattern for it. I used the same knitting wool as I used to make my Peach Flower Baby Hat. The owl body on the vest and the hat have the matching pattern so this pair of items make up a beautiful and stylish set. The owl is sitting on the twig and it has two bright green buttons instead of eyes.
